Welcome to our Violence Dynamics Vancouver profile series, where you’ll get to know our instructors and event organizers in the leadup to VioDy Vancouver 2017! This week, meet Edmonton’s very own Randy King: self-defense instructor, security specialist, and Youtube personality.
Randy King is the founder and owner of KPC Self Defense. He holds a fourth degree black belt in Modern Arnis, and is a former club and personal security specialist who has worked as a bouncer, security guard, and bodyguard. King is a Senior Instructor with the World Wide Martial Arts Association, a board member of Conflict Research Group International, and a Conflict Communication facilitator. He is a certified Progressive Krav Maga Full Instructor, and has been coaching everything from taekwondo, to arnis, jujitsu, karate, and self defense since 2009. He offers custom seminars on self defense, security, and workplace violence, and has published a book on the business of martial arts.
King brings a broad mix of martial arts training and a long background in security and personal protection to the Violence Dynamics team. His emphasis on civilian self-defense keeps his material accessible to a non-specialist audience, and his knack for communication and big personality have made him a fixture of the online self defense community. He co-hosts the Talking to Savages podcast, which collects crazy stories about violence, crime, and conflict, and is the star of the Randy’s Rants YouTube series.
He will be teaching the following courses at Violence Dynamics Vancouver:

- Escape and Evasion (Friday, 5:00-6:00)
- Dirty Dozen (Saturday, 10:30-11:30)
